Hoan Phan Viet (Harry Phan)

Co-Founder & Chairman, ISS Vietnam (Vietnam Information System Solutions Corp)

Vietnam has about 424 colleges and universities with more than 2.4 million students. According to the national statistics department, more than 200,000 students don’t have jobs after graduation, and the situation becomes worse due to the lack of solutions in job consulting for students. Students face a lack of soft-skills training, lack of access to career consultants, and lack of a specific channel to connect to recruiters. Technology can help schools, students, and recruiters not only shorten the gaps but also increase the quality of the recruiting market.

In this session, learn how one career consulting company worked to provide online training courses for students, including online testing; create a space where recruiters can offer job opportunities to students directly, and students can find and apply jobs freely; and build a platform where schools can see up-to-date recruitment statistics. Today, over 20 universities have partnerships with this company to deploy their job portals, and the results are significant. They’re working to expand to new schools and partners that can provide more useful learning content to students to help them prepare a better career path. Join this session to discover how they used technology to fill a critical talent development need.
